| The objectives of the program | To learn the theoretical and practical method for the calculation of metal structures, with the possibility of self-selection, and the design of construction systems in architecture. |
| Contents |
Theory: Characteristics of steel, advantages and disadvantages, production and types. Loads. Steel products and their applications (rods, sheets, profiled beams). Lattice, solid and lightened beams. Columns and their design. Connections and fasteners. Structural systems for various purposes. Aluminum and alloys.
Hands-on exercises: Selection and calculation of cross-sections for beams, joists and columns. Facade elements made of steel and aluminum. Combination of new materials with metal structures. |
