| The objectives of the course |
– An active knowledge of, and an analytical approach to the architectural and artistic heritage; – The identification and assessment of the category and the meaning of architectural concept; – The acceptance of its historic heritage as a factor in the building up of the one-to-one built of the language and the culture. |
| Contents |
The history of architecture and the arts, 4 have studied architecture and urban planning at the end of the NINETEENTH century to the crisis of the Modern (1960's): – The socio-political, cultural, and technological influences; – Urban concepts and the architecture typologies; – The composition and the shape according to the new technological possibilities; – The influence of art schools, based on architectonic thought. Teaching units: Chicago School, Art Nouveau, Vienna Secession; creators (Adolf Loos, Peter Behrens…); avant-garde movements (Cubism, Bauhaus…); great masters (Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe…); crisis of modernity and new approaches. |
